Introduction

The first chapter of KGF which was released in December 2018 is action drama that captured the idea behind one of the most popular movie series in the Indian film industry. Main plot strength of KGF Chapter 1 can be attributed to that most of the protagonist and supporting characters are vivid, charismatic and are perfectly fulfilling their roles.

Rocky (Yash): 

The main character of the movie and a symbol of the movie, Rocky, is first portrayed as a crude and tenacious man. He begins the story as a man consumed by hate because of his brother’s death, as well as the desire for wealth which comes with being an Fenian Brother, however he is presented as caring towards people he loves especially his mother. Though Reena is not as prominent as a character as Rocky but she plays a significant role in major aspect of the plot evolving with the character of Rocky. Admittedly, her romance with Rocky is not the central theme of the movie, but she is a positive and reasonable character, who provides a much-needed counterpoint to the ruthless aggressive environment that surrounds Rocky.

Vijayendra Ingalagi (Anant Nag): 

A journalist who narrates the story, Ingalagi gives a background to the basic story of how Rocky rises and the struggle for the possession of KGF. His voice-over plays an important role in making the audience understand that the character Rocky is designed as a legendary figure.

The film consists of powerful extended supporting cast – Shetty who plays Vasishta N. Simha and other characters only contributes to the web of KGF’s world which forms an equally rich and layered story as Rocky.
         

 

Direction and Cinematography

One of KGF Chapter 1’s strengths is Prashanth Neel’s direction. Thanks to Neel, the audience gets components of the action movie and historical drama that both encompass epic on big screen and inspires more personal emotions.
