Naruto Anime: Full Plot, Characters, Best Episodes, and How to Watch Naruto Online in 2025

Introduction

Loved ninjas, awesome hardships, and even eating ramen before saving the world? Naruto is the anime you should watch.

Naruto is an animation series by Masashi Kishimoto which depict the life of a boy named Naruto Uzumaki who wants to become the Hokage, the most powerful ninja in his village. So, Naruto can be described more than merely an action anime with the setting of ninjas at first sight. Nutshell, it’s about friendship, hard work and some good bowl of Ramen.

The Story: More Than Just Ninjas

Naruto isn’t your typical hero. When he was an infant the monstrous Nine-Tails Fox (Kurama) attacked his village the Hidden Leaf Village (Konohagakure). The villagers didn’t exactly have a good time with that. Therefore in order to safeguard them, Naruto’s father, the Fourth Hokage Minato placed the Nine-Tails inside his own son. Looks like a perfect beginning of a normal childhood, is it not? Not so much.

Naruto was never wanted by anyone since the day he was born and was regarded as a outcast. His hometown’s people regarded him only as a monster, which almost ruined the village, that is why Naruto had many loneliness and frustration. And thus the arrogant would be overcome as Naruto set his sight to work even harder in order to prove that he was more than the fox that was inside him. But if that would not be enough, he could simply perform his hilarious Sexy Jutsu on people (literally – this has to be seen to be believed).

The Power of Friendship and Never Giving Up

There are is also a common topic in Naruto, which is Familism. Thus in the series, Naruto makes friends with numerous colorful characters who have got different problems and develop change throughout the show. Sasuke Uchiha, for example, has an excellent friend who is a ninja, but at the same time, he is too gloomy and sulky (as well as needs help from time to time). Then there’s Sakura Haruno, who is one-dimensional at first, a mere love interest but develops into probably the most smart and strong ninja.

Naruto also gets influenced by his teacher Iruka Umino who adopted him and Kakashi Hatake who a cool dude that getting make one wants to wear a mask as a profession. And, of course, we have the great Jiraiya, who shares with Naruto basic principles of life and even gives him lessons in fighting – and flirting. Yes, Jiraiya is a pervert but don’t let that diminish his intelligence because he possesses one.

But the greatest point that Naruto learns is that there is nobody can face all problems alone. When he is older and has more friends, he understands that the strongest thing in the world is when friends/siblings stand together, when you grasp someone’s burden, when you don’t leave someone behind, even though things are getting difficult. It’s good advice if there is a giant evil fox inside you, or if you have no clue how to do your homework.

The Villains: Not Your Average Bad Guys

On one hand, we have cute ninja cats and silly characters, but on the other hand Sakura’s world features some scary villains. I have Orochimaru, a snake like ninja who just loves to perform forbidden jutsu and let’s not even talk about Madara Uchiha; the villain everybody loves to boo at.

There is Pain – a guy with the ability to manipulate six bodies at once, which for some reason I consider both cool and stalker-like. Picture having a meeting within a group, six of them being you, with each one presenting why they want the other person to eat exactly this sandwich. Chaos. But it’s the kind of chaos that Naruto has to face in order to reveal that strength of the heart is capable of overcoming any type of evil that these villains are.

The Epic Fights (and the Epic Filler)

Action is a mainstay of Naruto, and it is not lacking for excitement: these battles are as serious as they come. Whether the fight is Naruto going against Gaara, a sand ninja with a living sand monster inside him or even Akatsuki group, all battles are very close to home. But be warned: Perhaps to support this duration, there’s a lot of filler characters and content in Naruto. And by a lot I mean that when you decide to watch the series at one point you’ll be wondering “Did I just watch 20 minutes of ninjas cats side story?” The answer is yes, yes you did.

Still, every now and then there are random filler episodes – and who doesn’t like a pointless ninja beach episode? There are a lot of battles, the sins are serious, and the changes of the characters are decent. Besides that, thanks to Naruto’s Never Giving Up philosophy, you will probably feel guilty for skipping your gym sessions. Well done, Naruto didn’t give up after all that! Maybe now will be a good time I should do my 10-min workout…

The Hokage Dream

Another great aspect of the story could be said to be the main character’s goal of being the Hokage. If for example Naruto, the title of Hokage is not power for him but results in the love and appreciation of the people who once discriminated him. I’m sure he just wants to prove to everyone he’s not the demon within but a ninja with a hint of a great heart and a lot of ramen.

And when he gets to be a Hokage finally, it’s not only for him to be happy but for the idea to be brought across that everyone does not have to be good to be valuable. Naruto does it and maybe we can all strive to reach the highest level of our dreams be it maybe the Hokage or prose to meet the crush?

Conclusion: Why Naruto Will Always Be Loved

In essence, Naruto is a story about self-improvement, self-resilience and learning to belong in the community. Everyone’s favorite orange-clad shinobi, Naruto Uzumaki, is one of the most impactful characters in all of anime, as his tale of the school outlaw who grew up to be the world’s biggest hero shows anyone who watched that birth and growth are two different things. It is the kind of animation that can make you learn something about life and at the same time: make you laugh and maybe even cry.

So people, if you haven’t done it yet, take bowl of ramen, brace yourself for hardcore ninjas and welcome to the world of Naruto. Just make sure you’re willing the spend 5+ hours watching episodes you never intended to watch. Still, that is the idea behind being a ninja, is it not?
