War Movie 2019: Hrithik Roshan & Tiger Shroff – Cast, Story, Box Office Collection & Action Sequences

Introduction 

With War, 2019 saw Bollywood produce one of the highest octane action films which kept everybody at the edge of their seats and made hearts racier than the cars of the film itself. That is the film which took on espionage but also introduced us to some mind-blowing action scenes, mid-edge drama, and suspense which would give Mozart a real run for his money.

What's War? It's a full-throttle action movie featuring two of the biggest stars in Bollywood—Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. If you thought, “This is going to be one of those superhero-like films where the heroes beat everyone and leave nobody standing,” you weren't far away from your thought. Along with this, you also have a fair number of twists, turns, and a whole bunch of instances when you go, “Wait, what just happened?”

Plot – When Two Super Agents Collide

War sees a contest of wits and guns between two special agents, Khalid (Tiger Shroff) and Kabir (Hrithik Roshan). Kabir, a top Indian intelligence agent, has gone rogue; and Khalid, with a fresh face, is given the shoot-first-order-follow-later to eliminate him. Sounds simple enough, right? Simple in Bollywood means complicated; complicated means raising the stakes!

Different twists and turns twist around the storyline-Khalid and Kabir are not enemies in the correct sense. There lies a gray area amidst their relationship, and this is this charm of the film. The film punches in a fair degree of emotions, leaving us wondering, “Is Kabir the real villain, or is there something wrong in his being?” And from here, the confusion sets in since, with one hand, we hold a popcorn and with the other, we temporize with our hearts.

 

The Stars-Hrithik and Tiger, a Power Combo

Now, we move on to the stars of War-Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. This pair worked wonders for the film and was a huge selling point of the flick.

Hrithik Roshan stars as the veteran agent Kabir and is cooler than your best friend's dad with a sports car-yes, cool that. With a perfect combination of a sense of mystery, intensity, and an enormous air of quiet confidence, Hrithik really takes the role of Kabir to the next level. His action sequences glide so well that you nearly forget he's been acting for so many years. In a cookery context, Kabir would resemble a prime steak-mature, bold, and certainly a delicacy not for everyone; however, once you've had a taste, you just can't stop eating.

Then comes Tiger Shroff, who plays Khalid-the young and talented agent. He is the sort of guy who has the potential to do a backflip while chasing down a criminal on a bike and land on his feet as though he literally just stepped out of a fashion magazine. His flexibility, agility, and muscular coordination are breathtaking. He is like that one overzealous pal who never runs out of workout plans, but in War he is bid to fight for his life- a tad more serious than just another gym selfie.

The two make a dynamic duo. Just imagine this typical Bollywood mentor-versus-protégé scenario with a lot more explosions, chase scenes, and slow-motion shots to give any MTV video a run for its money!
The real star of War is undoubtedly the action. This is for you if you appreciate action sequences that cause you to question whether human bodies are really capable of contorting that way.
With rooftop chases in scenic locales to aerial dogfights(yes, there is such a thing), War is not a common action flick. The fight choreography is indeed very cool, the stunts, absurdly brave, and the special effects expertly pulled off. One thing is for sure: It will make you want to get into shape, wear a leather jacket, and pretend you're part of some secret spy agency- even if your only mission is to retrieve the remote from your sibling.

What really pops is the Hrithik-Tiger fight-a nail-biting scene where the death of either protagonist is imminent. Watching two action figures playing out their frenzy in another high-budget stop-motion flick is quite something, but it sure is better. Oh, and just so you know- while they're trying to kill each other, you'd so forget what they're up to just because they look danggood!

 

What With The Twists And Turns

If it's Bollywood, twists must happen somewhere or the other. War is a wonderful mix of staying on your toes while you think it's all figured out. As you assume the good guy is a particular one, or someone is working for the other, suddenly it does a 180-degree turn, making you question everything in your life choices. Like that one time you thought you were playing a simple video game, only for the boss to be an older brood of your long-lost sibling (okay, maybe not exactly like that but get the drift).

Mind games constitute one of the most enjoyable parts of the whole film. It's chess with explosions. The banter between Kabir and Khalid is mostly cryptic; it gives one the feeling they were engrossed in some "who is smarter" game. Who is the true villain? Who is in fact the hero? Is there, in truth, a distinction? By the movie's end, you might be doubting whether the filmmakers had found the recipe for the perfect spy thriller or are simply messing with us.

 

The Supporting Cast – Strong, But They Don’t Get Enough Screen Time

Where Hrithik and Tiger are the undisputed stars in the movie, the supporting cast also did a wonderful job. Vaani Kapoor is the heroine in the movie, and while she has very little screen time, she brings a certain depth and emotional weight to the narrative. The chemistry between her and Tiger is pleasantly sweet, but the explosions are the stars of the occasion. The romance can wait.

Several others, such as Ashutosh Rana, do their part to give the plot some good twists and turns. But, let us be frank here, a movie like War is not really about drama-it's all action.

Conclusion - Is War Worth It Unsure?


To sum it all up, War is the kind of film that gives you everything you expect and then some. It has jaw-dropping action, unexpected twists, and the whole deal of good-looking folks contending with death-defying stunts. If you want an action film that is high-octane entertainment, War is your film. And yes, it's also the ideal movie to catch when you feel gutsy enough to witness action sequences that seem out of the realm of possibility-because we all need some of them in life every so often.

So sit back with your popcorn awkwardly tight with your thinking cap. Because there will be twists! Well, just enjoy the ride that is War-hell known as your logic, you know-the one thing that matters is for you to be able to land that high kick with serious style.
